190 Year 6 students from Kells Lane, Oakfield, Glynwood and Kelvin Grove (all schools which are part of our cluster of primary schools) attended either a full morning or afternoon of sporting activities.
The aim of the day is to open up new and exciting opportunities within sport, opportunities which our primary schools may not be able to offer to their students. Students had the chance to use the Academy’s climbing wall and play table tennis against our robot tennis machine. They also participated in live, giant screen rowing races; team building challenges and basketball competitions.
The students were supported by Mr Bland and the P.E staff, alongside some of our trained Sports Leaders from the Joseph Swan 6th Form.
A brilliant time was had by all, with all students receiving a commendation certificate for their participation in the day and some lucky students winning awards for individual performance in each of the activities.
This event is just one example of our extensive transition and primary links programme. If you would like more information on this, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Bland at the following email address: email@example.com or call: 01914422000 ext 248.
